ALVARO'S BALCONY

Musical Drama.  Approx 2h 10m excluding interval

1928. The world is enthralled by Constance Nielsen, an American debutante who marries into one of Europe’s ancient Royal Families, and in doing so single-handedly puts the tiny Alpine principality of Centoluci on the map. Soon though she realises that her marriage is a loveless arrangement of state convenience, and as an impassioned affair with her music teacher threatens to spark uproar, news of her tragic death turns her from living legend into timeless icon. 44 years later, her famous jewels resurface and a woman claiming to be Princess Constance emerges, very much alive, with a priceless story to tell…

Book: Sebastian Michael
Music and Lyrics: Jonathan Kaldor
Based on an original story by Jonathan Kaldor and Sebastian Michael

MONSTERSOUND

Musical Comedy.  Aprrox 2h net

Developed with Kol Simcha and originally intended for the Stadttheater Basel, MONSTERSOUND is in essence a spoof-on-a-spoof show re-borrowing the Frankenstein/Rocky Horror themes and looking at them in the light of gene manipulation and advanced robotics. Even though the show was enthusiastically received by a whole range of dramaturgs and artistic directors, it never quite made it to production and fascinatingly many of the ideas that at the time of its conception seemed fairly outlandish have since become almost worryingly realistic.

Shortlisted for the Musical of the Year Competition 1994 in Copenhagen

Book & Lyrics: Sebastian Michael
Music: David Klein, Olivier Truan and Nicky Reiss
