the videos on this page have come about for a variety of reasons. most of them are effectively random studies and experiments: you could call it ‘playing around’. they have no intrinsic purpose or value, but perhaps they’re a little like the exercises or studies a composer would write on their way to the symphony...
NOW & THEN was a commissioned piece for a performance than fused dance, live music and performance with poetry and video and there are a number of ‘doclets’ - mini-documentaries - about specific things or events.

the hardware:
the videos you see in this selection have mostly been shot on mini-DV with a simple sony DCR-PC120E handycam, except ‘urbanscape I’, for which i used an even simpler canon MD205, and ‘dona nobis pacem’ , which was shot on a sony XDR-XR520 VE high definition camera...
the software:
...and they have all been edited on final cut pro.
